A new, exciting idea that we are starting is our Summer Grass Court League Initiative.  Volleyball is a sport for a lifetime, and there is no way to better demonstrate that to our young players than to have them see people of all ages enjoying the sport together!
Our Summer Grass Court Leagues are designed to give you a real, FUN way to help support the growth of your IPV Youth Developmental Program and enjoy some energizing outdoor competition!
We will be setting up grass court 4 v 4 Leagues for High School Girls;  as well as 4 v4 Power & Interemeidate and  6 v 6 Family & Friends (good clean fun for the whole family!) outdoor grass court leagues to run along side our Summer IPV Youth Programs
Not all outdoor options will be available in all areas, but we are confident that we can provide a healthy mixture of opportunities for everyone to find a place to play! Please read below for a quick summary of each general league category.  Summer Grass Court Leagues will operate on a work team referee and honor basis.  A team from your league (or another league) who is scheduled to play before or after your match will work as referees and line judges.   The goal of these leagues is to have some fun, healthy competition while getting some fresh air and exercise!

 Summer IPV Youth Programs
Focused on our primary objective of introducing the game to younger players, these will run the same as our indoor programs, except they will be outside on the grass!  Typical age groups will be 4th-6th Grade and 7th-8th Grade. Leagues will run for 8 weeks, 2 hrs, 1 day per week which will encompass both practice and game play.

Summer High School Girls and Boys
These will be 4 v 4 for kids who will be entering grades 9-12 in the Fall '10.  2010 HS Graduates are also welcome in this league.  Teams will be self directed and no instruction or jerseys will be provided.  Matches will be either self-refereed or with "Off" teams working matches that they are not playing.  Adult supervision will be provided.

Power Leagues
So you think you've got game?  Bring it!  These are 4 v4 leagues for experienced players who want to play hard.   Matches will be either self-refereed or with "Off" teams working matches that they are not playing.  Adult supervision will be provided.  These league are open to Men's and Women's and Co-ed teams.  There will be no minimum requirement for the number of females on the court for each team.  Play hard, keep it clean and let the best man- or woman win!

Intermediate
These are adult 4 v 4 leagues are for both Men's, Women's and Co-ed teams.  These leagues are for those may be looking for something more competitive than the family and friends league but not quite as intense as the power league.  More advanced players  playing in the intermediate leagues will be asked to adjust their intensity of play to the prevailing level of play.  Matches will be either self-refereed or with "Off" teams working matches that they are not playing.

Family and Friends League
These leagues are for the whole family and will permit adults and children to play together in some good natured, friendly competition.  More advanced players will be asked to adjust their intensity of play to the prevailing level of play.  The is purely recreational fun that should be able to be enjoyed by the whole family*.  Sure, we'll keep score but lets just have some fun.  *Children must be of an age where they can handle a hit, served or falling ball sufficiently to avoid injury.   Matches will be either self-refereed or with "Off" teams working matches that they are not playing.
